How to Sign up for Twitter

1. PC

Go to the twitter website: www.twitter.com

Step 1: Click on the sign-up button

You will see a blue button in the middle of the page. Clicking on that button takes you to the sign-up page.

Step 2: Enter your name and phone number

In the text box that appears, type your name. It is not a must that you use your real name. Next, you need to provide your phone number

You will see another text box just below it where you have to enter your phone number. You have the option of using your email address. To use the email address, click on the link” use email instead.” Make sure you choose an email address you would like to be associated with twitter your account.

Click on next. You will see it on the upper right side of the page

Next, you will see the sign-up button. It is always in the middle on the page. Click on it.

Step 3: Verify your phone number

If you used your phone number, you have to verify it. However, you can skip this step if you chose to use the email address.

To verify your phone number, click OK when prompted to do so. Go to the Messages app on your phone to see the six-digit code. Enter that code on the text box on twitter. Click on next to continue.

Step 4: Create your password

You need to provide a unique password. Enter the password on the text box “ you will need a password.” Click on next to confirm the password you have used.

Step 5: Choose the people to follow

Twitter recommends a list of people you can follow. To follow the person recommended, check the box on the recommended account. You can skip if you do not want to follow anyone at the moment.

Step 6: Click follow

The follow button is on the top right side of the page. The account you have followed is added to the “following” tab.

Step 7: Verify email address

In case you used your email address, this is the step to it. You have to confirm your email address to get access to the advanced features on twitter. Go to your email address and then to your inbox. Click on the email you have received from twitter. Click on the confirmation email. 

2. Mac

First, you have to download the twitter app for Mac from the app store.

Creating an account

• Begin by launching the Twitter app on your device.
• Go to sign up button to create your twitter account
• Enter your password, username, and email address.

Changing profile information

• Go to the profile icon to get access to your profile page
• Tap on the edit profile button
• Make the changes you want and then save.
  

3. Android

To set up your twitter account on your android phone:

You first need to have the twitter app installed on your phone from the Google play store.

Step 1: Open twitter app icon

Tap on the get started button. The started button is in the middle of the page. When you click on the get started button, it takes you to the sign-up form.

Step 2: Enter your name and email address

You will be taken through the sign-up process, after which you have to enter your email address and name in the text box that appears. You can use a pseudonym name.

You will receive a verification email to the email address you have provided. The email contains information on how to verify your email address.

Step 3: Enter your phone number

Tap on the text box ”phone or email.” Type your phone number in the space provided. You can enter the email address if you want to use the email address. Tap on next on the lower right side of the form. Lastly, tap in sign up to complete the process.

Step 4: Verify your phone number

You could skip this step if you used the email address during sign up. To verify your phone number, you need to enter the six-digit code sent to your phone.

Step 5: Enter your password

You will need to add a password to access your twitter account. Type the password you want to use, then click on next. Use a strong password but one that is easy to remember and tap on next.

However, Twitter no longer supports android version 2.3 through 4.1. If you want to enjoy using Twitter without any stress, download the latest version.

You can proceed to customize your settings for the new account. Twitter also allows you to manage multiple twitter accounts using the app.

4. iPhone

Linking Twitter to your device has now been made easy. You can access the twitter features on your phone. Here is how to sign up to Twitter on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Sign up Twitter on iPhone:

• The first thing you have to do is to download the iOS app.
• After installing the app, go to sign up to create a new account.
• When you are signing up, you are taken through the sign-up experience. Enter your name and email address.
• You will receive an email with instructions on how to verify your email address.
• In case you also provided your phone number, that will be verified as well. You will get a text message with a code to verify your phone number.

Edit your profile

You can edit your profile after signing. Tap on the profile icon and then on the edit profile. You can then go ahead and change the location, header image, website, bio, name, and profile. 

You can use the twitter iOS app on iPad, iPhone, or iPod devices. You can now sign up to Twitter on your iPhone and start posting tweets. You can even share a photo with your tweet.
