Shipt does not withhold any taxes from our shoppers’ weekly paychecks. As independent contractors, Shipt Shoppers are responsible for filing their own taxes. Shipt will send a 1099 form to shoppers who earn above a certain amount at the end of the year.

Can I use my Shipt card for gas?

Once you become an approved Shipt Shopper, we will provide you with a Shipt card and a Shipt shirt at no cost. As a Shipt Shopper, you will be responsible for covering the cost of your gas, data usage, etc. However, as an independent contractor, you can file many of these as expenses when you do your taxes!
