Add Google Account on Android

Android mobile requires google account to perform various tasks such as syncing and data backup. Follow the guide in this article to learn how to add google account in android and iOS devices.

  • Open Settings app on your android device.
  • Scroll down and tap on Accounts.
  • Tap on Google.
  • Enter the Google Account email address and tap next.
  • Enter the password and follow the on-screen instructions.

Done! You have successfully added google account in your android device. Now, you can user google services such as play store, youtube, Maps etc. using this account.

Note: More than one google accounts can also be added in android device. To do so, the procedure is same as for the first account.

Add google account to iPhone and iPad

  • Open settings app from home screen.
  • Scroll down and tap on Mail, Account, Calendars.
  • Tap on Add Account.
  • Tap on Google.
  • Fill all the information as required. Done! You have successfully created Google Account.

Add google account to Mac

Follow the steps below to add google account in MacBook.

  • Click on Apple icon from the top menu bar.
  • Click on System Preferences.
  • Click on Internet Accounts.
  • Click on Google.
  • Enter the email address associated with your account and click Next.
  • Enter the correct password and tap next.
  • Select the apps which you want to use with this account.
  • Click Done!

You have successfully added google account in your Mac. Now, the selected applications can access your account.

Add multiple google accounts to Chrome

It is highly recommended to use Chrome browser signed in with a google account because it improves the user experience by saving the bookmark settings, history and other lots of stuff of the browser like that to the google account.

  • Open google chrome browser on your PC or Mac.
  • Click on Profile picture icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Click on Add another account if an account is already added or click on Add account.
  • Enter the email address and password associated with your google account.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and you are Done!

Whenever we install a fresh chrome browser, we don’t need to made all the changings again and again as the google account associated with chrome will automatically restore all the settings saved in it.

Add google account for WhatsApp backup

Google account is added in WhatsApp so that backups and restore can be done with it. Follow the steps below in order to backup WhatsApp using google account.

  • Open WhatsApp in your android smartphone.
  • Tap on Menu.
  • Tap on Settings>Chats>Chat Backup.
  • Tap on “Backup to Google Drive” and select a time period for automatic backup.
  • Select the google account. If the google account has not been added yet, tap on Add Account.
  • Allow the network using which you can backup or restore.

Done! You have successfully added google account in WhatsApp for the backup and restore.

How to forward Gmail Messages to other email Automatically

Gmail allows you to forward the received emails to another email services likes Hotmail, yahoo etc. Follow the steps below in order to forward the google emails to another email client.

  • Open Gmail Inbox in the web browser.
  • Click on Gear icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
  • A drop-down menu will appear, click on Settings.
  • Click on “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” from the upper menu tab.
  • Enter the email address to which you want to forward your emails, in the Forwarding box.
  • Type the forwarding email address.
  • Click on Proceed and click Ok to complete the process.
  • A confirmation email will be sent by google to the forwarding email address. It contains a link. So, in order to accept the forwarding request, it is necessary to open that email and click on the link provided within the email.

Note: There is also an alternative of step 8. You can type the Confirmation Code into the Confirmation Code field present in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. After pasting the verification code, click on Verify.

  • Select Forward a copy of incoming mail and type the email address you just entered for the forwarding.
  • Click the field next to the email address and select the option which you want to perform on the forwarded email. These options include;

Keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox: Selecting this option will place a copy of received email in your Gmail inbox and mark it as a new and unread message along with forwarding it.

Mark Gmail’s copy as read: This option will also place a copy of the email to be forwarded but does not mark it as unread or new message. It is marked as read.

Archive Gmail’s copy: This option is very useful as it does not keep the copy of the email in your Gmail inbox. It just forwards the message to the email you set up above. It keeps the message in Archive so that it can be reached later.

Delete Gmail’s copy: This option does not keep the forwarded email’s copy to your Gmail inbox or to the Archive. It is moved to trash after forwarding. The messages in the Trash are automatically deleted after 30 days. So, it is not recommended to choose this option if the emails are needed later.

How to disable Gmail Forwarding

Follow the steps below to disable message forwarding in Gmail.

  • Open Gmail Inbox in the web browser.
  • Click on Gear icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
  • A drop-down menu will appear, click on Settings.
  • Click on “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” from the upper menu tab.
  • Select Disable Forwarding.
  • At the bottom of the screen, select Save Changes.
