Can I still create a Nest account?
After August 31st, you won’t be able to make new Works with Nest connections or make a new Nest account. The Nest account you have won’t get any new features, but Google will keep supporting it with security updates and your Works with Nest connections will keep working for the time being.
Is a Nest account the same as a Google Account?
If you started using the Nest app before 19 August 2019, you created a Nest account to manage your Nest products. You now have the option to migrate your Nest account to a Google Account, creating one unified Google Account that you can use to manage products and homes in both the Nest and Google Home apps.
Do you need a Google Account for Nest?
You can only link one Google Account to one Nest Account. On your mobile device, download the latest version of the Nest app from Google Play. Check that you have an eligible Google Account. If you don’t have one, you will need to create a new Google Account.
