- Now, you need to cut the size of the paper as per your needs. The paper should be cut in a ready to hang fashion. You need to align the top edge of the paper on the top of your wall and unroll the rest of the paper, so that, it measures the length of the wall, with extra on the bottom.
- Now, cut the length of the paper according to your need and use the painters’ tape to slightly hold it in position while you open the second layer of your wallpaper and equal the pattern. Continue this until the downside destination. Now, pour adhesive on the tray for your use.
- First, remove the tape on one side and apply the paste with the roller. For a comfortable application, you can lay the paper on the flat surface. You should not over saturate the paste when applying the wallpaper. Book the wallpaper if it is suggested or needed.
- The top of the wallpaper should be aligned according to where the ceiling meets the wallpaper. Press the wallpaper into position and smooth it downward with clean hands.
- If you have booked the wallpaper, you should unwind the lower end while you attain the center and carry on with to smooth it downward. If you need to make any cuts, you can do it with cutting in an “X” pattern.
- Now, you have to paste the other sides of the wallpaper by repeating the same steps. Once you have done pasting, let the wall dry for a day and sketch with the colors.
- For Creating a Temporary Wallpaper
No matter, what kind of fabric you have decided to use, but you should make sure that you have enough space to cover the wall.
- You should have at least a few extra feet, so that, you will have space to reposition the pieces when you are lining up with the print. Now, you should wash and dry the fabric, and then you need to trim off the white edges with good fabric scissors.
- Now, you need to give a quick wash to your wall, which you are going to use for hanging the wallpaper. Once washing is done, let it dry completely. When it is drying, you need to keep the cloth on the floor to protect your floors from ruining.
- Now, attach your paint to the wall with thumbtacks and cut it to size. You should leave a few excesses at the roof and baseboard. Repeat the same steps for all panels of fabric. Make sure your wall is fully covered.
- Use the knife to cut any fixtures or molding in the center of the wall. You need to unfasten the portion of the wall, so that, you can fully paint the mark of the wall with fabric starch.
- You must coat on a small area, so that, the starch dries quickly. Now, the fabric should be placed on the crown of the liquid starch and flat it down the way. The starch will stick to the wall instantly. However, you need to replace the thumbtacks again to hold it in place when it dries.
- Continue this until the whole wall of paint has a starch backing. Now, you need to roll over the fabric with the liquid starch. You need to make sure that the fabric is fully covered. Drench the fabric with fabric starch. Only then, the starch seeps all the way through the fabric and onto the wall.
- You should now let the starch solution to dry completely for a few hours. After that, you must pull off the thumbtacks and remove off any excess fabric at the molding and ceiling or baseboards with the help of the utility knife. Once it is dried, you can now paint any color of fabric on the wallpaper.
