If you do get symptoms, these usually appear between 1 and 3 weeks after having unprotected relationship with an infected person. For some people they don’t develop until many months later. Sometimes the symptoms can disappear after a few days.
Chlamydia bacteria often cause symptoms that are similar to cervicitis or a urinary tract infection (UTI). You may notice: White, yellow or gray discharge from your lady parts that may be smelly. Pus in your urine (pyuria).
Urinary tract infections and chlamydia can also cause pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic region. The main symptom that chlamydia does not share with UTIs is penile or vaginal discharge. A chlamydial infection can cause a yellowish, strong-smelling vaginal discharge or a watery, milky penile discharge.
