Hulu is a widely used streaming service for movies and television shows. Whether you’ve just decided that you no longer want the service, or you have completed your free trial and do not wish to continue, all you need to do to cancel your subscription is follow these simple steps.

  1. Go to your Hulu account page.
  • Log on to hulu.com or open the Hulu app on your Apple iPhone, iPad, or Android mobile device.
  • Open your account profile by selecting your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • Clicking your account profile will open a drop-down menu. With various options for account settings. Select “cancel” from this menu.
  1. Select “cancel” to close your Hulu account.
  • You will be prompted to follow some on-screen instructions to complete your cancellation.
  • Hulu will ask for feedback about why you are choosing to cancel your account. You will have the option between choosing a predetermined reason, or writing in your own answer.
  • Be honest about your reason as Hulu uses this feedback to adjust things like pricing, content availability, length of trial periods, etc.
  • A dialogue box will open to ask if you are sure that you want to cancel your subscription, and Hulu will likely try to keep you as a customer by displaying a special price offer.
  • If you still wish to cancel, click the button that says “cancel”.
  1. Finalize your cancellation.
  • If you signed up through Hulu and not a third party subscription package,  your cancellation should be complete.
  • If you cancel before the end of your current billing cycle, you will continue to have access to Hulu until the billing cycle ends.
  • You should receive a cancellation email, but if you don’t or you are unsure if your cancellation went through, you can contact the help center to be sure.
  • If you signed up with Hulu through Roku, Spotify, Amazon or another third party, you will need to follow specific instructions based on the third party that you subscribed with. You can find those easy to follow steps here. 

    Things to keep in mind:

    • Just because you cancel your Hulu subscription does not mean that you cannot open a new one.
    • Cancelling your account does not mean that you won’t be charged for the current billing cycle.
    • If you have the Hulu app on your phone, the app will still be there even if you cancel your subscription. Uninstall the app to get rid of it.
