There will be a time when you will need to delete your browser history on Chrome.

What is History?

History is the record of all the links you’ve clicked and the websites you’ve visited. This record will be recorded starting from the last reset of your browser history or can be kept indefinitely.

Tip: If you have a google account that is currently logged-into your browser and is connected to multiple devices, you can delete your history from all your devices just by deleting your history from your browser.

How to delete your browser history from Chrome.

  • Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of your Chrome browser.

  • Hover over the History tab with your mouse.
    Tip: You will see the most recent websites you have visited up to 10 websites.

  • Click on History.
    Tip: To get to this page by shortcut press ‘Ctrl+H’ on your keyboard or by typing ‘chrome://history/’ into the url.

  • You can either clear entire browsing history, click on the ‘Clear Browsing Data’ button on the left side of the window, or to clear a specific website link from your browsing history, tick the box next to a specific entry link that you want to erase and click the ‘Delete’ button that appears at the top right of the window. 

How to delete browser history from Chrome on your iOS device.

By deleting browser history from Chrome on your iOS device, you will only be deleting the browsing data from your specific device. Be aware that this does not delete browsing history from all devices connected to the Google account that is currently logged-in to your current device.

  • Tap on the 3 buttons on the top right of your window.

  • Tap on the ‘History’ tab.

  • You can either clear entire browsing history by click on ‘Clear Browsing Data’ at the bottom of the screen, or you can clear a specific website link by clicking on ‘Edit’ at the bottom right of your screen, then select ‘Edit’,and then ‘Delete,’ at the bottom of the screen.

How to delete browser history from Chrome on your Android device.

  • Tap on the 3 buttons on the top right of your window.

  • Tap on the ‘History’ tab.

  • You can either clear entire browsing history or select specific website link from your history.

To clear an entire browsing history:

  • Click ‘Clear Browsing Data’ at the bottom of the window.
  • Next to ‘Time range,’ select how much history you want to delete. You can select ‘All Time’ to delete all history.

  • Tap Clear Data at the bottom of the screen.

            To clear a specific website link(s) from your browsing history.

  • Click on ‘Edit’ in blue at the bottom right of your window.
  • Tap the circle next to the specific website link you want to erase.

  • Click on ‘Remove’.
