Flowers are just beautiful but they also carry a lot of meaning. These are the most beautiful things to ever exist on the planet but the worse part of getting flowers is that they might die. Flowers are bound to wither down and fall off if they are not preserved. Maybe you got a rose from someone you love, or maybe you got birthday roses and want to preserve them. There are tons of ways you can preserve roses.
1. Books
Books or hardback are the best way to preserve flowers. This method can be often seen in movies and it is as effective as it looks. The best part about it is that you have to do no effort in the process. All you have to do is grab a book and put your flowers between the pages. Put some weight on the book and let it be for a while. After a week or so, you will that the rose will be preserved.
2. Air Drying
Secondly, another easy method to preserve a rose is by air drying it. This doesn’t require a lot of effort either. For this the first thing you need to ensure is that you are in a ventilated room. Secondly, take your rose or your bouquet of roses and tie the stems together. Don’t tie it too hard or they might break. Once down, hang it upside down and let it air dry.
After a while your rose will be preserved.
3. Silica Gel
Third, another easy and effective method is to use glycerin. Take a jar and fill a quarter of it with glycerin. Place your rose inside. Pour the rest of the glycerin on top of the rose or roses. The flower will absorb the glycerin and the lack of water won’t affect it. Put the rose in glycerin for a few days and then take it out. Keep the glycerin in a container as you can use it afterwards too.
4. Sand
If you are looking for a convenient, hassle free and cheap method to preserve your rose then sand is the best option. Take sand in a bowl and put your flowers in it. Try not to break the flowers while you are adjusting it in the sand. Leave it be for a while. The dryness from the sand will absorb the moisture. Once all the moisture is absorbed, you will see that your rose will be preserved.
5. Microwave
Lastly, you can microwave the rose too. Put it in between two coffee filters. Place the sandwich on a plate and put it in the microwave. Let the microwave do the work at moderate settings. Once it is completed one set, take it out and check if the moisture has been absorbed. Repeat this process again if there’s still some moisture left.
Try to keep an eye on the progress of your rose. You don’t want to repeat this process excessively or the petals might start falling off.
