- Open the screen that you want to screenshot
It can be a message, a picture, or anything you’d want to screenshot. If the screen is open already, proceed to the next step and take a screenshot.
- Take a screenshot
There are many ways of taking a screenshot using your Android phone, depending on the type and model.
- Use shortcuts
Using screenshot shortcuts is the fastest way to capture any screenshot. To use the quick menu shortcut, follow the steps below.
Using two fingers, swipe from the top of the screen downwards.
Locate the “Screenshot” or “Capture” icon found in the dropdown menu.
Wait for your phone to take a screenshot. In almost all cases, your phone’s screen will flash as an indication that a screenshot has been made.
- Long-press the screenshot combinations
In this method, you should long-press both the “power button” and the “Volume-down” button at the same time. But then you have to be super quick to ensure that there is not even a slight variation in the time you press on the two buttons.
With even the slightest time split, your phone will display the menu for the power off button, or it may zero down the volume. Therefore, you must be incredibly fast.
Even though this works for most android phones, things become different when you’re using Samsung Galaxy phones. In this case, press on the “Home” and the “Power” buttons to take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy phones preceding Galaxy S8.
For models, Samsung Galaxy 8, click on the “Power” button combined with the “Volume-down” button. Press on the buttons at once uniformly, and the screen will flash indicating that your screenshot has been captured.
- Review the screenshot
After taking a screenshot, the image will get saved automatically in your photos app. After a screenshot is made, it will display in the notification bar.
To view your screenshot from the notification bar, swipe down from the top of your screen.
After that, tap on the notification for the screenshot captured, and this will prompt the screenshot to open. View your screenshot and find out if it’s precisely the way you’d want it to appear. If not satisfied, you can follow the same steps to take a better one.
If your screenshot doesn’t appear in the notification bar, you can check if from your Photos apps in the album named “Screenshots.” Such apps include Gallery, Samsung photos, and Google Photos.
How to Share Screenshots on Android Phone
There are two ways that you can use to share the screenshot that you have taken. The first way is by sharing screenshots taken from the notification bar. And the second way is sharing from the default photos app.
If you’d like to share your screenshot from the notification bar, swipe down from the top of the screen towards the bottom to get to the notification bar. Next, tap on the screenshot to open it.
When the screenshot opens, tap anywhere on the screenshot. Doing that will prompt the various options to appear on at the bottom of the screen. After that, tap on the “Share” icon. It resembles three bold dots joined with two straight lines.
Next, choose the location to which you’d like to share your screenshot. This could social media, email, and other apps that support the sharing of images. If you’re first, you can also tap on the “Share” button at the bottom of the screenshot before it disappears from the screen.
To share your screenshot from the photos app, navigate to the default photo app, and then tap the on the “Screenshots” album to open it. Next, find the screenshot that you want to share and tap to open it. With the image open, single-tap on the image for the sharing option and others to appear. With that done, tap on the “Share” icon at the bottom of the screen and then choose the sharing destination such as social media account or any other app that supports image sharing. Log in if prompted to so to share your screenshot in the social media. Having done that, add and text to your screenshot and then tap on the “Post” or “Send.” Doing that will share your screenshot.
