Edit and Update Google Maps Using These Steps

Google Maps allows you to update your business listing on the app and website to make it easier for people to find you.

To edit your business listing, you will want to follow these steps from your mobile device.

  • Open your tablet or phone, and then start the app.
  • Enter your business name in the search bar to open your profile.

How to Update Your Google Maps App

If the above process does not work for you, then an update to the pre-installed Maps app on your phone might be necessary. Apple will tell you on iOS devices if there is a new version for you to install.

Android phones can force an update if the developer uses this feature, but you may still need to check if Google Maps is up-to-date on your device manually.

Tap on the “Updates” button in the App store for your iPhone or the equivalent on a mobile device using a different operating system. If you see Google Maps listed in that area, then that means there is a new version to install.

If not, then you have the latest version available on your device.

Tap or click on the command that allows you to get the update. You will probably need to enter your password or device unlock information. This process authorizes the download, which occurs automatically.

There isn’t a true Google Maps app that you can download for desktop operations. You can still send feedback about the information that is available through the app by using the “Send Feedback” option that is available through the top left menu.
