What is the Otcas application?
The Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant Centralized Application Service (OTCAS & OTACAS) is a program of the American Occupational Therapy Association. It allows prospective students to use one application to apply to multiple participating OT and OTA programs through a single application process.
How much is Otcas?
Q: What is the charge for the OTCAS application? A: The OTCAS fee is $125 to apply to one program and $45 for each additional program. Your designated OT program may also require you to send a supplemental fee directly to the institution.
When should I submit Otcas?
You can submit your application up until 11:59 PM ET on the deadline date; however, ensure you allow for time to complete the required payment section. You must click Submit and complete the final payment information before the deadline in order to guarantee your submission is accepted.
How long does it take for Otcas to process transcripts?
OTCAS processing may take up to 4 weeks after your application, transcripts, and fee are received. OTCAS is not responsible for any materials lost in the mail or for delays caused by the registrar’s office.

Can I submit my Otcas without letters of recommendation?
Once you’ve submitted all of your required documents, OTCAS will still take 3-4 weeks to verify your application, before you can even apply to schools. So do yourself a huge favor and start working on your OTCAS application as soon as the application cycle opens up. This is almost always in July of each year.
How do I send my transcripts to Otcas?
Each OTCAS reference form is unique to the applicant and evaluator. The evaluator should complete the paper form and attach it to a signed letter. OT programs may not accept paper references unless a completed form and letter are attached. OTCAS does not verify your references are complete.
How is Otcas GPA calculated?
Print out and complete the form and submit it to the Registrar Office of the institution. Be sure to advise the Registrar Office to enclose the Transcript Request Form with your official sealed transcript and mail it directly to the OTCAS Transcript Processing Center.
What does verified mean on Otcas?
To calculate these GPAs, each A-F or 0-100 grade you entered in the Grade field is first converted to a OTCAS numeric grade value, then multiplied by the attempted credits. The resulting product is Quality Points. Your total Quality Points are then divided by your Attempted Credits to determine your GPA.
What is the transcript request form barcode?

Where do I find my Otcas ID?
This ID is located below the barcode on the Transcript Request Form issued to you by PTCAS (the barcode is located in the upper right corner of this form). Once your transcript is requested, it takes 7-10 business days for it to post to your application.

How do I send my transcript to Sophas?
OTCAS is the centralized application service for occupational therapy schools that launched in August 2010 and is administered by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and their technology partner, Liaison International, located in Watertown, Massachusetts.
Do you need a transcript for common app?
When entering recipient details, select Common App from the drop-down, then enter the CAS Transcript ID. This ID is located below the barcode on the Transcript Request Form issued to you by Common App (the barcode is located in the upper right corner of this form).

- Provide the registrar with the following items: SOPHAS Transcript ID Form. Ask the registrar to attach it to your official transcripts.

If you’re applying to a program that requires official transcripts, you’ll need to download the Transcript Request Form. You can access this form in the Colleges Attended section. Common App for transfer also accepts electronic transcripts from Parchment and National Student Clearinghouse.
