To create iCloud account and enjoy its features, you must create a new apple ID before. After than, you have to just configure iCloud on this ID. So, let’s start.
- On your iPhone/iPad open settings. It is a gear like icon at home screen.
- Tap on Sign in to your iPhone/iPad1. If you are already signed in and wish to create a new ID, sign out of your current account. To sign out from apple ID, tap on your profile and tap sign out at the end.
- Tap on Don’t have apple ID or forget it.
- Tap on Create Apple ID.
- Provide valid birth date. Swipe up to rotate day, month and year and tap Next.
- Enter first and last name and tap on Next.
- Enter email address. You can use existing email ID or create a new one. Tap Next and then continue.
- Enter password and tap Next. Make sure the password must contain at least one number, capital and small letter.
- Enter mobile number and select verification method. Tap Next.
- Enter verification code received via message or call on the number you provided in the step before.
- Tap Agree.
- You will be asked to enter iPhone passcode. Enter the passcode you had set while setting up your phone.
- If you want to merge photos, contacts, documents, music, calendar, reminders etc. with your iCloud, tap on Merge.
Congratulations! You have successfully created new apple ID as well as iCloud account. Now you can set up your iCloud account in Settings->Apple ID->iCloud.
How to make an iCloud account on Mac and iTunes
- Open iTunes.
- Under Quick Music Links on right, Click on Accounts.
- Click on Create Apple ID.
- Click Continue.
- Check the Terms and conditions box.
- Click Agree.
- Enter required information like email, password etc.
- Click Continue.
- Add payment method.
- Click Create Apple ID.
With new apple ID, you have new account for using iCloud. You can access iCloud on its website www.iCloud.com and login with apple ID to access your data.
How to check your iCloud remaining storage
iCloud provides 5GB free storage to its users. If you want to check remaining storage of your iCloud drive, here are the steps.
- Open settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on iCloud.
- Tap on Storage and Backup.
- Tap on Manage Storage.
If you are on MAC:
- Open System Preferences.
- Click on iCloud.
- Click on Manage located at bottom right corner of screen.
This will show you details about storage in use and what is using how much storage.
To save iCloud storage make sure you delete older backups because they are not so important as the newer ones. Also make backup of selective data instead of whole of it.
Avoid large apps backup to iCloud because it is unnecessary.
