TikTok gives you several different ways to customize your videos before sharing them. One of the best options is to make your own sound so that you can include it with your new content.

Knowing how to make your own sound on TikTok is easy when you follow these steps.

Make Your TikTok Video Unique with Your Sounds

 Adding sounds and music to a TikTok video is simple. You can learn how to do it in just a couple of minutes by implementing this process.

  1. Open the TikTok App

Find the white musical icon on your home screen or app drawer. Tap on it so that the TikTok app will open.

  1. Create or Add a Video
  • Before you can start making your own sounds on TikTok, it is necessary to have a video available that will let you customize it. If you have one on your mobile device already, then you can click the Upload button to add the content.
  • You must make the video with the additional sounds outside of the platform. TikTok has disabled the option to add your own sounds or music because of copyright issues.
  • If TikTok detects any music, then your video gets categorized with every other content that is similar to it. You may not be able to post it either with the most recent update.
  1. Edit Your Sounds

Although you can’t add music or sounds to your TikTok video with the late 2019 update to the app, you can still edit what is on the actual video. Tap your Profile icon at the bottom of the screen. Then choose the video that you wish to edit.

If your video does not contain any audio, then TikTok does not give you the option to choose it.

  1. Tap the Record Icon
  • You will see this icon on the far right of the screen. It has musical notes coming off of it, and the image looks like a vinyl record. It may take a couple of minutes for this to appear. Then the original sound will appear for that video.
  • You can tap on the Edit button to make changes to it at this point. If it is music that comes from a copyrighted source, then this selection may not appear for you.
  1. Choose to Set the Sound Title

Once you are satisfied with the results of your work in making your own sound, then TikTok lets you save it as an audio file. Choose Set Sound Title to complete this process.

You only get to change the name of the files once, so choose it carefully. Then select Confirm, tap on it again, and you’re ready to use the sound.
