How do I find frogs?
Where can I find wild frogs?
Frogs take in water through their skin, so they need water around in order to keep from drying out. The water should have little to no current and should preferably be somewhat protected. Good places to check for frogs are: swampland, watersheds, or along the banks of streams, lakes, and ponds.
Where is the best place to find toads?
Toads generally burrow during the day and can be found under humid shelters like piles of leaves. The leaves provide toads shelter for them to hide from predators, and water to stay hydrated. If there are piles of leaves, grass, or weeds in your garden or backyard, this may be the perfect shelter for a toad.
Where can I find frogs outside?
Frogs like to hide in moist, damp places, and they don’t like direct sunlight. You can find them near ponds, at the edges of swamps, and on river banks. They are best found after a rain or during the rainy season on the underside of leaves, in the trees, under rocks, on the ground, and in mossy areas.
Where are frogs in the daytime?
The best places to look for frogs and toads are near lakes, ponds, and streams. Sometimes it is easier to find eggs and tadpoles than it is to find the frogs and toads themselves. Look for frog and toad eggs near the water’s surface, often attached to underwater plants or sticks.
