  • Take unused cloth into warm water.
  • Add some soap and work on it to create a lather.
  • Get the cloth and dab some of that warm soapy water to the shoe.
  • Place the cloth into the affected area and let it soak for a few seconds. The area with paint must be softened to take it off from the shoe easily.
  • Get your unused toothbrush and gently brush the paint off the shoe. Make sure that when you brush it, it’s not on a circular motion to avoid the paint from spreading everywhere.
  • Repeat the whole process of dabbing the warm cloth and brushing it with a toothbrush until the paint has come off.

  • Repeat the entire process and put more polish remover as needed.
  • Carefully wipe the scraped paint without spreading it around the shoe.

  • Pour slowly and only use what you need depending on how big the stain is.
  • The paint should be softened now a few minutes after pouring the thinner. Scrape off the paint with a knife or toothbrush.
  • Get a damp cloth and wipe the remaining paint.
  • Wash the shoe and dry.

Important tips to remember

  • When scrubbing your shoe with a toothbrush, do not scrub it too hard, or the quality of your show will get messed up.
  • Please do not use strong soap or detergent when washing the shoe since it can also affect its quality.
  • Do not use bleach when taking off the paint stain, or the shoe will have discoloration.
  • As soon as your shoe got the stain, apply the remedy immediately, or the paint will get dry and tough to remove.
  • Do not wash your shoe in the washer to get rid of the stain. It will only bring damage to your shoes.
  • When drying off the shoe after removing the stains, make sure you don’t dry it inside the dryer. It’s preferred to air dry it. The shoes tend to shrink or lose their highest quality when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
  • It’s important to note that there are different remedies for every type of shoe. If you have leather shoes, sneakers, or rubber shoes, other remedies work well for each specific type.
